I have found great reward in working with youth who have a variety of special needs and teaming with families to support them. I have extensive experience working with families who have a child or children with autism. I understand the challenges for families as they advocate for their child for education and independence into adulthood. I enjoy talking with families and listening to their concerns and celebrating the successes they have. I have worked with a local librarian and started a story time for children with Autism, and have coached special Olympics basketball in my free time.

I am married and have two adult children. My daughter is a nurse and my son who has special needs has successfully completed training and job support and loves his job at a garden center. I volunteer in the community. I love to knit, read, watch football, as well as participate in outdoor activities, especially attending local festivals.
